As a dedicated and long-serving minor hockey coach in Stittsville and Kanata, Rory Bradley was an enormously positive role model for young people in our communities. Rory passed away suddenly in May 2010, but the examples he set of perseverance, teamwork, caring, respect, honesty and friendship will remain with these young people forever. To honour Rory's life, and in recognition of his commitment to youth, a bursary has been created in his name to financially support a deserving student attending Algonquin College. On June 1st 2013, the Rory Bradley Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Canadian Golf & Country Club to raise funds for the bursary. We invite you to join us to remember a great friend and role model and to support this worthy cause. For general information on the golf tournament or to donate raffle and door prizes, please contact: John Bissonnette: john.bissonnette@rogers.com or 613-316-3399 Jim Oliver: jim.oliver@softchoice.com or 613-592-5365 For information on the Rory Bradley Bursary, which was awarded for the first time in 2012, visit the web site of the Algonquin College Foundation at: www.algonquincollege.com/financialaid If you prefer to donate directly to the Rory Bradley Bursary at Algonquin, simply log onto www.canadahelps.org site and type in charity (Algonquin College Foundation), then follow the donate steps, you will come to a page that lists (Funds), this is a drop down button. This year’s CIPP Charity Golf Tournament will be held on June 7, 2013 and will support Roger’s House, the Senators Foundation charity of choice. This will be our 8th charity tournament, with close to $150,000 raised in total at our tournaments. It’s a great golf day that includes lunch, a shot-gun start, dinner, live and silent auctions, games and more!
The Civic Institute of Professional Personnel (CIPP) represents the professional employees who work for the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Community Housing Corporation. The tournament includes both our members and members of the public in order to raise money for what we know is a most worthy cause.
We are very grateful to those that are able to contribute to the event and feel that Roger’s House is very deserving of the support. Roger’s House provides respite and palliative care to children and their families in the face of life-limiting illnesses.
We would be more than happy to discuss how you can be involved with this event. We place importance on recognizing sponsors of the event and would be pleased to discuss sponsorship opportunities with you (hole sponsorships, live and silent auction items, etc.).
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us (call 613-241-3730 or email admin@cipp.on.ca).
