Gordie's Day Annual Golf Tournament
Friday July 16, 2021
Gordon Shields loved golf. He passed away in 2014 at the age of 47. He lived over three years with osteo-sarcoma, but he made sure his disease did not define him. He was always a talented athlete but he really took pleasure in golf with his best buddies and his family throughout his adult life even when his health became such a challenge.
In 2015, Gordon’s three siblings decided to honour their brother’s memory with this annual event. They selected the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation as the recipient of the charitable donations.
This year, like anything else, will be a little different. No sit down dinner, but fabulous grab and go food stations throughout the course. No prize raffle, but a 50/50 draw instead. And what would a tournament be without prizes for the winning foursomes. We will be looking for a winning Men's team and a winning Women's team this year.
So, sign up your team. We have tee times starting at 2:00pm (no shotgun start this year). And we are really excited to be at The Canadian Golf & Country Club this year. Looking forward to seeing you.
