The Canadians Trifecta

The Canadian's Trifecta consists of 3 charity events run by the staff at the Canadian Golf Course which are raising funds for some well deserving charities. As you will notice, all three events will benefit cancer patients in the Ottawa area. With cancer affecting so many people, we want to not only raise funds for research but raise awareness of all the great support programs there are available for those fighting their battle with Cancer.

The Friendship Open – The Next Generation, is taking place on Friday July 21st,. The Friendship Open was an event that took place 30 years ago and raised a tremendous amount the CHEO Foundation. The sole purpose of the CHEO Foundation is to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Donations and funds raised help the hospital provide a wide variety of pediatric programs, research, state-of the art equipment, medical and nursing education and assistance for families in crisis. For this event, CP has agreed to match all funds raised (up to $10,000). For more information on the Friendship Open click here

The Memorial is the second event of the year and is taking place on Friday August 25th and will be raising money for Candlelighter’s Childhood Cancer Support Programs. This event is a culmination of two previous events that used to be hosted at the course called Tori’s Helping Hand and Refuse2Lose Team Bryce. Both events were formed in memory of two young children who lost their battle with cancer. The Memorial Committee is proud to announce in two years the event has raised an amazing $71,600 for Candlelighter’s Programs! For more information on the Memorial click here
