On Friday June 9, the Golf4Paul committee will be holding its 1st Annual Charity Golf tournament in memory of Paul Droogh. This highly anticipated event will see 100% of the proceeds donated to Do It For Daren (D.I.F.D) an organization that raises awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.
This fundraising event will honour our dear friend/brother/son, Paul Droogh. In his 25 years, the Ottawa native made an impression on many with his genuine kindness, humour and Thoughtfulness. These traits and more are now etched in our memories, as Paul took his own life on May 12, 2016 after a quiet struggle with anxiety. The tragic loss leaves us all with broken hearts and unanswerable questions—and a realization that no one is immune to mental illness.
We hope that you will partner with us in honouring Paul, stopping the stigma, and supporting Do It For Daron at the Royal (DIFD) through this event.
DIFD is an Ottawa-based charity that takes aim at youth mental illness by raising awareness, starting conversations and supporting The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre’s research and education. One in five Canadian youth suffer from mental illness—and many do so in silence. In partnership with DIFD, we’re determined to change the statistics and remove the taboos around this topic.
The event will be an 18 hole shotgun start followed by a silent auction and dinner.
